Appears to be hickory heartwood, this combat cane is nice. It has the grooves in the shaft and the sharpened crook. It is in awesome shape. I am 5'10" tall and it is tall for me. Could easily be cut down. Carry your weapon in the open!! I am asking sold Please email me at parang1@comcast.net. Thanks for looking.
