Combative Edge.... Scam?

So I placed an order directly with combative edge 2 weeks ago, my credit card was charged instantly, I received no confirmation, no tracking number, I emailed them over a week ago with no response, I sent a message through their web site and still no replies.... Has anyone else placed an order with this company? All I want is a response...

No idea, but I see their folders for sale on reputable dealer's websites. If you are concerned, contact your bank and have the money returned. This might seem silly to ask but, have you tied picking up the phone and calling them? A lot of people seem to averse to calling and talking to people on the phone when it comes to asking questions of a store. I guess it's the disconnected age we live in.
 
There is no phone number on their web site... I wish I would have ordered from bladehq. Now I dont know If I want to support a company with such poor customer service... I am an easy going guy, I can handle waiting, but no response from their customer service department in 2 weeks is excessive.
 
Richard, get in touch with your bank ASAP. There are a lot of brands out there that are willing to earn your business and support you long after the money is in their pocket.
 
Bump... I just had the exact same experience. Wish I had seen this thread first.

I Ordered an m1 straight from their site and received nothing for 2 weeks. I tried contacting them through their site and Facebook page and have heard nothing back for a week. Finally put in a Paypal dispute to get my money back... What a hassle :mad:
 
The M1 is easily one of my favorite knives so I will try to offer some input here to help out you and Combative Edge's reputation. I too put my order in for a 2013 M1 a few weeks ago, and was a bit dismayed that they took the money immediately when in reality it was a preorder that you were getting in on. They should have made that more clear, as I at first expected my knife to be shipping immediately. According to their facebook, the new M1 was supposed to be delivered around July 10, and as far as I know mine hasn't shipped yet. I left a comment on their facebook before even reading this post, as I was getting a bit concerned.

Edit: Rob responded to someone on facebook about their order and left his email and phone number for them to get in touch with them, here they are for your use: "Email Rob@CombativeEdge.com or call us at 484.947.2656." I really wish they would be a bit more communicative because I really like the M1 so much that I bought a 2013 model after getting the 2012, so I have a bit invested in this company and their products. It doesn't help that Rob has just been tweeting about the Zimmerman trial the last few weeks with no updates about their knives.
 
That is a shame. It's really sad when people try and earn a good reputation in their industry, only to let it crumble by resting on their laurels. This is a competitive industry, I'm sure the competition would be more than happy to fill the gap with excellent service and products.
 
Haven't heard back from Rob through either Facebook or Email yet. I wish it were as simple as just disputing my transaction via paypal, but the sad thing is I would much rather have the knife!
 
This is a bit different story than what I heard from Rob.

I originally ordered an M1 from his site June 18th under the impression it was in stock and that I would get it quickly. Now, waiting for preorders is not something that I'm a stranger to. I've ordered from plenty of company's who do the preorder and then ship you a knife weeks or even months later. But I've never had a company take all my money up front and then not respond to communication. After waiting two weeks, I began to try to contact Rob through his site and facebook to no avail. I then entered my paypal dispute.

Only HOURS after putting in a paypal dispute, Rob emailed me saying to contact him directly at his email. He claimed that I had ordered through an old shopping cart that he didn't even know was taking orders.

This ^^^ after clearly getting the money from me through paypal and clearly having been notified THROUGH PAYPAL that I had entered a non-receipt dispute. He emailed back within an hour each time we talked. He sort of apologized and said I could wait longer for the knife (which he claims will be in within "two weeks") or get a refund. I asked for the refund and suddenly he stopped responding again and I've received no refund.

What a fun group to do business with :grumpy: It sucks because they have an awesome product and Rob appears to be a nice guy. Just maybe not too organized I think...

In the meantime, I've picked up a 2012 M1 on the exchange so no worries there. :D

Bummer about this issue...customer service is still so important even in this "digital" age.
 
Rob got back to me on Instagram of all places when I asked about the 2013 models, and he said he would let me know later this week when he hears back from manufacturing. I will keep everyone posted, but it isn't comforting that they might not even be made yet.
 
Well I was just informed of this thread and obviously not too happy about the recent delays.. As you may have seen recently we have updated our website, server, emails.. etc.. When we did this there were quite a few glitches in the system. One was not being notified of orders, orders not being properly processed, and customers not getting the automated message letting you know that certain products were backordered..

So are we a scam? No.. I have done my best to contact via email or phone everyone letting them know the status of the order. We have had delays in manufacturing which isn't uncommon and we are expecting the products in within the next 2 weeks..

Please keep in mind.. Combative Edge is me and a partner I just recently brought in because I couldn't keep doing this myself. There isn't a customer service department, no secretaries, no assistants.. etc

Oh and Richard I'm looking through my sent mail and I emailed you on June 16th telling you there was a problem with your order and for you to contact us.

There is nothing change for Rob to handle his business in end 2022. I placed my order on early Nov, but they haven't ship it out until today. I'm not sure how long I have to wait, but if he is not responding my email by Jan 3rd, 2023. I'll dispute my charge through PayPal.
