Combo or plain edge?

a sharp plain edge can do anything a serrated knife can,but a serrated knife can't do all the things a plain edge knife can do.

i used to carry combo knife, i relaized i have no use for serrated knife, straight edge, that how i roll

I have one combo blade and I wish it was a full plain edge. I have two fully serrated spydies and love them but the rest of my blades are full plain edge. I would stick with fully plain or fully serrated depending your primary use.

Plain edge for me. In fact all my knives are plain edge. I have thought about getting one combo edge for the few times I would need the serrated edge but just have never gotten around to making that purchase.

My first knife was a CRKT Doolittle with a 2.75 combo edge. 95% of the time I used the straight edge, or more. For a blade smaller than 3.5 I would not go back to a combo edge. I just never found a use for a combo edge. With being said, a firefighter buddy of mine swears by 'em. He uses his to cut wire, especially helpful when inside a burning building and stuck in the wire used to suspend drop ceilings. The moral is if you have a use for one, it makes sense to get one, albeit it will be infrequent for most of us
