Combo, Plain, or Serrated?

I used the Spyderco Endura with the serrated edge for a few years and liked it, .....
..... I thought that with the combo edge, I would have the best of both worlds. Could anyone comment please. Thanks
If you are only going to carry one knife, then a CE is the most logical choice for many people. Working with only one knife readily accessable in all weather and dress conditions makes sense while on duty or off duty. If you are going to carry two knives, then the larger one should be either SE or CE and the smaller one can be either CE or PE. Almost all SE knives have a little bit of plain edge near the tip. It isn't very often that you need more than that. If you are going to carry more than two knives, then you wouldn't be asking this question. All of my EDC have some teeth. I don't ever find myself "wanting" a pure PE blade.

For me, if the knife is around Delica-sized, I prefer it be either full PE or SE. However, I'm finding with the Endura (for example), that I tend to prefer it in CE. I have Enduras in all configurations and when available, I often reach for the CE version. Which means I'll have to pick up an E4 in CE as well. :)

In my experience only sharp to very sharp does well consistantly on clothing. A dull serrated blade can do worse han a plain edge that's sharp. I typically carry PE knives nowadays, though I carried a serrated endura for 6 or 7 years. Now I try to vary the knife blade according to weather and expected situations I expect to have a greater chance of encountering.

Either design works so much better sharp it's a nesessecity having a sharp edge. Joe

What do you usually use your knife for? Are you willing to sharpen it regularly, or would you rather send it into Spyderco periodically? That will determine whether a new serrated knife would be a good match for you. FWIW I would pick the Military of the two because it is lighter and still quite strong. The tip is somewhat fragile though, depending on which generation of Endura you are used to.
