I'm about 20 minutes into my first mod ever. I'm currently stripping my BK14. I realize this is nothing spectacular or new, but I had to share the beginning of what I'm sure will be my newest addiction, modding my Beckers. As usual when stripping, tips are greatly appreciated and expected!

I'll send Flexxx right over. That boy can't keep his clothes on.

Yeah!!! lets get nek........oh wait.....cool you're striping your 14. We need more pix. :D

Not very exciting at the moment. She's still just sitting there covered in goo(the knife, in the stripping solvent) so pics as I go. Yep, gots my gloves.

Man those 14's are sexy blades!

Steel wool and plaster scoop and the paint comes off no problem for myself. Leaves a very nice rugged look too. Boot oil is super cheap and I use it on knives I don't plan to eat with, otherwise use mineral oil. 1 oil per month seems to be quite liberal. 1000 grit sandpaper if you want to see your face in the blade.

the extent of my stripping knowledge.

Thanks for the comments and tips guys! Honestly I was kind of going off what I've read here. I code to do this because it just seemed the logical first step in a possible series of mods. I really couldn't remember how long to leave it in so I just checked after a half hour to see if the coating was bubbling up. It wasn't so I came back after another 15 min and it was time. The 2 was a different story. It seemed it was ready after about 20min but I let it sit another 15 just to be sure. Pretty easy for a first mod! Now, Ill force a patina on the 14 and cold blue the 2. I've seen tips on the bluing, but don't remember where. I look before work tonight because, well that's where I'm doing all this.
