Come strip with me!

The tips I can give for bluing are follow the instructions on the bottle, have 0000 steel wool, soap and water and wash the blade WELL before you start, medium and fine sandpaper if you want a two tone effect (or coarser steel wool will do to, at least 2 different sponges/cotton balls/ towels/ whatever you will use to apply the bluing, do at least 4 applications, with a quick washing (not just rinsing) with soap and water after 2 applications (for some reason it starts to repel itself after 2 and then it gets uneven), and it will get darker overnight. Also it show smudges like finger oil and stuff with use but the steel wool will buff it right out.

Just what I was looking for, thanks Clich!

The most recent victim of my stripping spree....my 9er.

Before, I had some chipping to the original coating.

Bout 25 min after applying the stripper, it started peeling with no real effort.

Wow, I honestly wouldn't know. Moose may be the best to ask about that. I've never seen one done. I would think it'd be the same, except you would definitely need to be more careful of the grips snd even mask off the handle.

Hey, thanks for the reply. I was just wondering because I really wanna strip mine but I can't quite figure out how to do it without it touching any of the leather.

Yeah, no worries. Like I said check eith Moose or maybe one of the other guys. I've only ever stripped 3 blades and they were all Beckers. Sorry, I couldn't help more than that .

Looking good guys. There is also the option of using a brass wire wheel on a hand drill. It zipped the coating off lickety split for me. But you will likely have to resharpen after that. You have to do it sooner or later anyway so no biggy.

Well last night I did my first mod...Xbox case handle liners...And the next day I go buy a can of stripper. After I swore to let her strip herself, I'm force-stripping her.

I'm also removing the paint from my knife, anyone tried that yet?

Removing the paint? Isn't that the same as stripping? Maybe I'm not understanding ya.
