Yeah man. I should have stayed a bachelor 10+ years ago. :D Now I'm like a caged bear. :emot-yarr:

Naw :P Even tho they drive us nuts, nothing else brings a smile to my face like they do. Especially when my oldest son emulates me in all the greatest ways :D

Note the big ass knife.
The BK5 is awesome.

Small knives work too...

But I think the smile grows proportionate to the size of blade he's holding.

And I agree the BK5 is awesome! The balance... the geometry for slicing/ cutting. It feels so much lighter then it is... and you get so much control with that big blade.

My son found a job locally that pays well, and is moving back from Colorado. Gonna be nice to be able to see him more.

Thats great Dubz!

I managed to get myself some supper for tonight. Only marked a handful of fish and this is the only one that actually bit. The hook didn't set on the first bite, but I got it to bite again and got it.

Him and one of my friends kids could be twins. I did a double take when I saw the picture.

So far this snark side thingy is off like the Millenium Falcon making the jump to hyperspace. Or something like that. Sheesh, whatta bunch of Tatooine GEEKS! Cheese-bear, you might appreciate this: Back in the 80's I went to see the (original) Star Wars Trilogy at the NTID (National Technical Institute for the Deaf) near my house (RIT) and none of those deaf people would shut up - which was funny cause they can't hear each other, and I couldn't figure out why they had to be so loud. They were all talking (mostly unintelligibly) like no one else in the theatre had working auditory circuits. But it was OK, 'cause the interpreters doing blaster "noises" with their hands was killer funny. Anywho in on Episode VI.

I don't even try to machine sand hardwood to 220-i stop at 120 and hand sand, because both my grinders just fry wood (and micarta, for that matter). Granite, that'll disappear once it's stained. Very nice.
The nicest pieces o tiger maple I've ever had came out of my woodpile...

Thanks, Jim. Any time I've worked hardwoods before its usually been with sharp tools (planes and scrapers and files) and maybe the occasional RO sander. I knew it was easy to burn, as anyone who's ever tried to use a router on hard maple can attest. Fresh belts definitely worked the best, but I think I'll try your advice from now on. That and maybe no more SS for pins, at least in wood. It's really too hard, as daizee did try and warn me. Unfortunately, the epoxy was already setting up when that warning came.

What is the blade on that knife made from? It really is beautiful.

Thanks guys, looking forward to seeing him again. I love watching viking programs.
