I have 2 of the brown S35 PM2's and have no complaints. But, that said I'd like to use an elmax version just for first hand experience and see which I like better and for what...

I would go Elmax, simply to have a greater variety between steels
you can get an S30V pretty readily, and to me the S35VN is not that different
I currently carry either an all black S30V or the CTS-204P sprint both great blades, but I do love the 204P. And green is my favorite color
