Contrary to other posts, my new CrN Commander's Liner Lock isn't difficult to disengage after being slammed open. The Lock is postioned about dead center on the rear of blade (open). Shouldn't it be further left? Where does your's lock up at?

Thanks,

Richard

Normally, near center like yours. That's where I like it.

If I do a hard wrist flick (more like a slam) opening, mine will go most of the way over, and is hard to disengage. I don't do this anymore because I don't like peening the stop pin.

The lock on mine goes right over to the far side and is a devil of a job to disengage. A couple of times I've had to use my Leatherman's pliers to disenagage it after loosing too much skin from my fingers trying. Surely a well made knife from a xompany like Emerson shouldn't have these problems ! Or is it just me !

Hi Bob and DD,

Thank you both for your replies to my post. My Commander's liner-lock travels no further than 3/4 across, regardless of how hard I slam it open. Even then it's no trouble to Dis-engage. Strange.

Bye,
Richard

I have a commander made in 1999. The lock goes no further than halfway across. When I flick the blade open with force it might go a little bit further over but still no more than half way across. It is harder to open then. It took some getting use to when unlocking the blade. At first I almost had to use two hands. My thumb has gotten use to it now.
