Commander: with or without serrations

I have a Super Commander and it has serrations, just like all of my EKI knives.

I use the belly of the Commander for most cutting, but the serrations are there when I need them.

Chalk me up as a serrations guy, but I grew up on a farm and still spend time there. A lot of stuff there gets cut easier with serrations.

Serrations do add cutting power, especially in fibrous materials - albeit at the expense of some extra effort in sharpening, when they do eventually need sharpening.

I have both sizes of Emerson's diamond sticks. They're oval shaped, IIRC. They should do a pretty good job on serrations, sort of like the corners of a SM rod.

I think the knurled, blends well with the super commander, super cqc 8 and UBR commander.
So you have better use of both sides, smooth and serrated.

The fullsize commander really does lend itself well to serrations. I personally don't like to sharpen recurves very much and the serrations take up the bulk of the recurve on the commander. I just recently bought a Super 7 SFS and cant wait to break her in.
