Hey folks of the Emerson realms. I just got in a Jungle Commander and HOLY COW this is the Emerson I have been looking for. Fits the hand like a glove. I have had a 7 and a horseman and while both were excellent knives, the Commander is in command of my pocket for now!

And since we all like pics!

Congratulations! The Commander is my favorite model in the Emerson lineup. I've had a Jungle version and they are great for EDC.

Thanks guys! After having this in hand I am already thinking "super". Good gawd the slope is gettin' slippery!

Just go Uber and be done.. after that you'll have to wait for the Emerson folding kukri.

LOL, no kidding. BTW, folding kukri? Tell me...what do, you, know? Haha. The super might be as big as I can fit in my pocket and still be able to sit down. Could keep the uber in the kitchen block I suppose...

Emerson = CQC7, or HD7 and Commander.
Get a 7 too. For back up.

I'd add the CQC-8 to the Commander and '7 for iconic Emersons. I've yet to meet someone who doesn't fall in love with one of the three after getting a chance to hold and examine them and appreciate the design.

Good call on the Jungle Commander! My mini Commander sees a lot of pocket time and I want a regular sized one just because. I prefer the stonewashed blade but like the green scales more. I think that means I need to get both!

That's the knife that rekindled my love for emersons and was my favorite up until I got my tiger and Persian

Then let me introduce myself... :) As much as I LOVE Emerson knives, I really don't care for the 7 and only marginally like the 8 (although I do love the mini "Horseman" version a LOT). Not a fan of the super thick fingerguard on the 8 - otherwise mostly like it, and just don't like the 7 grip at all.

The 8 is one of the few that I don't really like all that much. Not sure what it is but it was one of my first and I just didn't really warm up to it. The Commander was one I waited forever to get but when I did I loved it, almost as much as a 7. Great choice with the jungle model. The texture on the colored grips is nice and it's nice to change up colors occasionally.

This makes me feel good about dumping a bunch of cash on doubling my Emerson collection (from 2 to 4). I got the Commander as my first Emerson and I absolutely love that knife! I quickly followed it up with a Mini Commander for 'pocketablity' reasons.

I asked the question here about the 7 vs the 10 and pulled the trigger on a 7AW. Then I just couldn't help myself and I also ordered the 7V - it'll be my first tanto. The combination just kept calling to me. I feel like the Mini-Comm/7's are right in my sweetspot for EDC...

Can't wait to pick them up in a few week's time!

Haha no worries, Match. I'm right there with you. Couldn't fall in love with the 7's ergos, but the Commander and Horseman are spot on for me.

So, anybody here have the whole commander line up and willing to put of a pic of micro through uber all side by side?
