I just recieved a package from EDC knives. Inside was a brand new Benchmade BM42 Balisong. I had intended it to be a present for my newly knife enthusiast wife, but I may be keeping it for myself, as it is much nicer than my old beaten up version. But that isn't why I'm posting.
I want to publicaly commend Duane Weikum. Due to a mix up there was a problem shipping my order. These things happen. After a couple of days I sent an email to EDC expressing my concern. Within minutes of sending the email, Duane personally called my cell phone and left a message explaining the situation and expressing an obvious desire to make it right. I didn't get a chance to call back as I was at work, but was greatly mollified by his effort. When I got home I found several emails from Duane about the situation and what was being done to resolve it. He went well out of his way to fix the problem and to ensure that his customer, me, was very well taken care of. No excuses, no passing the buck, no BS, he acknowledged the problem, apologized for it, and fixed it.
Anyone can hang out a shingle or a webpage and sell things. This has resulted in a great fall off in the level of customer service we tend to recieve, especially when it comes to esoteric items such as knives. I have rarely experienced customer service as good as this, and certainly never better. I plan to do more business with Duane in the future and will recomend him to others.
