First off, welcome man. We hope you stick around.
I would go with the Dozier Folder. Its cheap, light and just the right size. Another great option would be the phat bob, although that is heavier and larger it has a nice hollow grind for slicing through things with ease.
Good luck.
1. Fill us in on your preferences. Do you prefer bigger or smaller folders? Modern or traditional? What's your price point? Natural or manmade handle materials?
2. Then just buy a phat bob, because it's awesome![]()
1) im not sure i want a middle sized? i dont want it too look like a toy and i dont want it to look like a lethal weapon. by modern and traditional do you mean locking mechanism? im not to familiar with them. i do like natural materials but manmade are probably more durable so i guess id go with them.
Traditional knives look something like this generally (think grandpa knives).

Modern knives generally have pocket clips and locking blades are designed to be opened with a single hand and look like this.

From he sound of it, the Dozier would be a great place to start. Its not huge to its not too scary, it is light and easy to carry and is cheap enough to not give you a heart attack if you lose
it.

OMG Logan, where'd you get that picture??! I thought I was over my desire to get one of the Chestnut dog's head trads, but now IFOM. That looks really, really nice.
Cveezy, keep in mind that the Doziers come in a variety of blade shapes. My recommendation is a Dozier Hunter #4062. It's a great knife, many people here on BFC EDC them, and it's very inexpensive. Here's mine.
Thanks for the help guys, nice pictures btw i think ill look at the dozier series, i like the clip features defiantly and they are probably alot lighter then traditional and the cheapness only makes it better. ill start looking into it and let u guys know what happens.
Between the two, in terms of quality I would go with the Dozier. The Fin looks pretty nice, but the steel is substantially lesser in quality than in the Dozier. Also, serrations can be useful for certain things, but many feel that the straight edges are just as useful as well as easier to maintain.
Personally, I would go with the Dozier.
That is just my opinion of course.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
That long swedge on the Fin doesn't seem to provide much use, and reduces useful back-of-blade territory for a guiding finger and etc. That deep cutout on the handle doesn't seem ideal, either... seems like your fingers would clump up in there.
Go Dozier!
