I found recently this swedish steel making factory URL : http://www.uddeholm.se
They are the makers of ELMAX steel that seems to start to be used for knives by custom makers in Europe. (strange because it is designed to be a moulding steel? Does someone here have an opinion on ELMAX Steel ?
Also If you get there, have a look to the Powder Metalurgy tool steels products Vanadis 10,23,30,60 which seem to get interesting characteristics (HRC > 65 and tougthness).
