Agreed, they almost always self-destruct. It's just that sometimes we get impatient while they're taking their time! :D

All it adds is torches and pitchforks and an unhappy troll. Or trolls, when we close the thread.

Agreed. One thing I've learned from personal experience is that sometimes it's best to listen to the mods. As a general example, there are some computer/technology related forums out there that have a no tolerance policy for stupidity in any form even in the more lenient sections. Genuine mistakes are one thing, but consistent and repetitive poor behavior just doesn't last. I've seen a lot of people get booted from some places (not knife related) for things that are normal in other places, if someone appointed to watch over a forum/discussion board takes time to give/offer you sincere advice, best not to ignore it or act like an imbecile in return. Some folks just don't understand and refuse to, because all they want is as much attention as they can muster.

And of course mods can ban as they see fit. I believe this is a great place with a lot of great people. I have yet to find the unity I find here, anywhere else. that's family. 👍
 
The ability to take constructive criticism is crucial, as well as humbling one self when we inevitably make mistakes. Some folks never learned this or just don't care.

I've clashed a few times with mods. I still think the one serious time I was right and he was wrong, but he is/was a mod, and that's just the end of it. You shut up or leave. On the whole, the mods here are better than any forum I ever visited. They have a light touch, allow saving face when needed and generally manage to engage instead of dictate. I don't like moderated forums, but I've lasted here this long for a very good reason, and I had nothing to do with that. :D
 
Your last post above sort of a contradiction of the first post and ttitle here .Did you feel wronged with no recourse lately ? Let the mods do their job it's simple heck you sig is advocating one of them just let them do their job you do yours. Me and Rev have hod our own spat is he a good mod yep along with the others. This is a forum that takes time to learn how it work is what it is

Some people lack the ability to rationalize and make conversing difficult, especially when said person refuses to listen to multiple people saying the same thing. It gets frustrating and the idea of a community ban hammer idea was just a humorous suggestion not meant to be take to seriously.

Note I said it was improbable in the OP. I do believe the mods to a good job, as you noticed my sig suggests that. When frustrated it would be personally gratifying to vote some fool out of here, don't agree? Ok voice your opinion and it is here for every one to see.

And as noted by others they often get them selves banned anyway, its just agony sometimes waiting.

Perhaps this was more w&c appropriate as it did have a humorous tint when posted, but in a "I wish I could vote someone out of here way".
 
I think that you should use the ignore button more if you feel the need to vote banning people is all I'm saying it's there for a reason don't let fools piss ya off. Heck you can act like it's your own personal hammer .
 
I do use the ignore button, if you don't get the humorous part of this and are taking it seriously after I told you in previous posts how this started then I don't know what to tell you. Maybe you should put me on ignore and deuce out lol

Maybe it was more of a whine and cheese subject if it was in jest. Because reading the thread title it didn't come off as a humorous thread as now you call it. Heck I was just reiterating like everyone else. Which in tech I can can't i? Should I put you on ignore no you don't bug me but I also don't think a public ban hammer is affective just saying.
 
I mentioned in previous posts it might have been more w&c appropriate ... read a few posts above.

Like the above quoted post from mturbo really let the fool post away I've had him on ignore from the second day I've joined the forum. Just use ignore you seem by your post to let him or his post bother you so why keep the drama in your feed. Well anyways gn all have work in the morning
