Figured it was about time that I made an ABS style Comp Cutter, so here it is:

P1030692.jpg

This one's light and fast. The handle is just the right size with excellent ergonomics, so you can chop comfortably -plus you can also use paracord (not included) through the front rivet to safely secure it as in the picture below:

If you lose your grip (which is very unlikely to happen), the blade won't go flying and the handle stays in the palm of your hand due to the balance. I believe Warren Osbourne came up with this idea several years ago. This "front of the handle" location is much better for a lanyard than the end of the handle for safety reasons.

Specifications:

Steel: 5160 (heat treated to HRC 59), flat ground with a convex edge and enamel coated for rust resistance.

Blade Length: 9-1/2" (to top of scales)

Blade Width: A tad over 1-3/4"

Overall Length: 15"

Stock Thickness: 0.25"

Handle: Black Micarta with Brass Rivets

Price: SOLD (includes shipping in conus).

No sheath is included, but if you would like a leather one made, it's an additional $50.

First "I'll take it" is the owner. I accept paypal and money orders.

Thanks for looking.

WHY DO I HAVE TO BE CURRENTLY UNEMPLOYED??????????

Seriously, this knife is exactly what I've been lookin' for. Out of curiousity, does it have a fairly stout tip (I tend to be a bit hard on tips...bad habit of stickin' it in something when not in use). If I had the cha-ching, I'd snap it up. Awesome work!

Will you still be making smaller knives? I remember back you made one pry bar style knife, real nice stuff!

ditto

I really like that one, but I have an aluminum pattern that I made Long ago with 14" blade, (the shortest mark) out to 19" that is a mirror image of your comp cutter, you have great taste too!! Hope mine turns out as nice as yours has.

Hey Danny,

Nice to hear from you. :)

I do remember that knife, you sent me a picture and wanted a neck knife version? It was satin finished CPM 154 with a kydex sheath. Man, that was a long time ago ... 4+ years?

That sounds like a heck of a chopper. If you need any pointers, feel free to pm or e-mail me.
