I just finished another "proto" last night that I've dubbed the "Compact Combat Knife." It is stout, comfortable, but not too cumbersome. The blade is only 10 inches overall and is made out of lightly forged-down 1065. It is 1/4-inch thick and hollow-ground. It has about 4 1/2 inches of cutting edge and little recurve to aid in slicin' and dicin'. The handles are removable and are contoured black canvas micarta slabs that are recessed a bit on the butt-end so you can hammer if needed without hurting the handles. The finish is Gun-Kote, and is my first attempt at a "burch bark" sort of finish. Obviously, I've got a long way to go with this, but I still like the end result. :D

This blade is up for grabs for $275 shipped. It will come with a kydex sheath of black or olive drab with a tek-lock. For an extra $20, it can come with a leather sheath of your carry choice. Paypal, MO, Check is fine. International ordering is fine, but some extra shipping costs may incur.

Anyway, enough of the talk; here's the pics:

Thanks for checking it out -- :)

It holds its own quite well -- it was originally created to use on military weapons. The flat colors works well as it you can usually hit it with a shot of oil and wipe a lot of imperfections smooth. I offer free recoating with all my knives.

This one is SOLD pending --

I never got an e-mail from you Gundy, I hope my mail didn't filter it.
