nice, very nice. 1095 is killer. i am seeing more and more 1095 blades being made.
this tells me 1095 has something. price?/workability?/usefullness?/availability?..
all of the above. butcher blade steel is for me great.
i like the sparks it makes when i'm grinding it and the ease of shaping it also.
just seems to be organic i guess.:)
anyway i like 1095:thumbup:
buzz:cool:

 Now only if that pesky RD-4 hadn't snared me.;) . Amazing work by the way...the simplicity jumps out at me as something very functional. keep up the great work and happy holidays......

Ray,

May I see a pic of the sheath please? That is a seriously cool little knife. :D

Andy, metal is stronger of course. I wouldn't want to use micarta on a long thin guard as it will break off. The guard on this one is small and quite thick for it's length. It will be fine. It's almost just like a protruding part of the handle. BTW, did you get your knives yet?

Thanks for the explanation, I really like the look.

Well, I've been gone out of town since Thursday, I think the knives are at the post office waiting for me to pick them up. I'll likely have them tomorrow!

I'll let you know.

Andy
