Companies using Carbon Steel ?

Thanks for all the repliesand information. I have a couple of hours to kill so Iam going to begin checking out the compaines and links that were recomended.

The Queen Mountain Man lockback in D2 steel looks pretty nice. Does anyone have experience with this model? Is the D2 difficult to sharpen?

Thanks

I like the old Cold Steel stockman made out of Carbon V by Camillus. Just the right size, not too big or too small.

+1 on that.
Carrying one today that I picked up a few weeks ago on the 'bay. Ferociously sharp blades.

Case CV performs great and their knives have been great recently. Queen city classics 1095 is also a nice performer which is used on the Moore Maker ones as well. GEC makes some killer 1095 too. They run it harder than the queen (57+/-) at 59+/- I believe.

I haven't had a chance to sharpen my carbon V cold steel stockman jr. but I think it will behave like the Schrade 1095 which is fantastic.

As an alternative, Opinel makes some great carbon blades.

My favorite carbon steel on the market today would probably be GEC's.

Thanks for the rundown Captain Carl. There are a couple of GEC knives that have caught my eye but deciding between a 3 3/4 and a 4 1/2 has been driving me nuts (Pioneer vs Scout)
