Company Question

When you say no name appears, you mean that entry on your account info has no listing saying where it came from? Also, if the merchant is not shipping for 1-2 weeks are you sure they're charging your card right now rather than just authorizing it?

I don't know.

All I know is, there no name "taking" 90,67$ on my Credit Card. It just show that I have 90,67 less.

However, on the main page of my bank, it shows that My Credit Card still have all the money available, however on my CC page it says that I have 90,67 less.

Normally, It would show this:

17 JAN BESTKNIVES.COM (or a compagny name) 90,67$

but it shows this..

17 JAN (nothing) 90,67$.

So.

And I'm not sure if they charged my card or just autorized it. Is there a difference ?

And On my Order page it says " Will ship in 1-2 weeks "... That's really a long time, no ?

An authorization is what's placed on your card right away when you're placing on order, a preliminary step done to make sure your card can honor the sale for the given amount. It then becomes a charge when the order is completed. Specifics of how soon this happens vary from merchant to merchant.

As for the shipping time, that also varies from merchant to merchant. 1-2 weeks seems to me like a while to wait if what you're ordering is in stock, but ask the merchant for clarification if you feel it's needed.

The website is based around a Yahoo store, so my guess is that Yahoo take the money, subtract their commisison and pass the balance to 'the store'. Also as the shipping is so long it is probably a 'virtual store'. They carry no stock themselves, but have a deal with a wholesaler who ship direct to you. The site does say everything on the site is 'in stock', but they don't say with whom, and there is no real address, just a PO Box.

Pre-authorisation never shows on any statement.

They do mention this on the website;
BestKnives WILL NOT charge your account until the day it is shipped to you.

So what does that means exactly Andrew ?!

jujigatame... yeah maybe it's that. I don't know.

I hope I will receive my knife and that this site if not a hoax !

Edit: yeah, 3 email in 2 days and still no answer.

I don't see where you mentioned that you called them. There is an 800 number on their website. Sometimes, e-mail can take days to get a response, but a call should help clear things up quickly. If not, then you may be in trouble.

Thanks for moving the topic, Cougar Allen. I didn't know where to post !

So.. I discovered that the 90,67$ was under "Authorized Non Charged Payments" or something like that.

So I guess they just have autorized it.

Sorry guys - I'm not really an expert in cc card, i got mine only some month ago.

And well, knife aren't cheap, dammit ! a 60$ knife and a 90$ bill :( I pay the knife nearly 2 times !

Well, What wouldn't I do for a knife !

However... 3 weeks - 1 month of waiting... i REALLY don't appreciate that.

And no answer for email !

i've bought from bestknives.com several times over the past 6 years and have never had any trouble from them.... fwiw

You may have placed an order for a knife that they do not have in stock. In such cases, it's not uncommon for e-tailer's to state that it will ship in one to two weeks.

It may also be a knife that will take longer for them to obtain.

If your account does not show in decrease in funds, but the statement shows an authorization, you have not been charged yet.

. . . .a 60$ knife and a 90$ bill. . . .

I just performed the preliminary steps of ordering a knife at the web site and used Quebec as the ship to.

They only offer two shipping methods - "Canada Priority, which was $21.90, and "International," at $37.00.

That is why there is a difference in the price of the knife and total cost (or bill) of getting the knife to you.

As others have mentioned, give them a shout - you may think that your English isn't very good, but it never hurts to try. :)

yeah, no decrease in funds but still 90,87$ payment. May be just the authorization then.....

and yeah, That's so priceyyyyyy... a 60$ knife that cost 90$ :( Ouch.. that's pricey... I end up paying almost 2 times the knife :(

And i choose canada priority, however 2 weeks before shipping is not priority to me :rooleyes

That's a common misunderstanding. Whether or not you pay extra for fast shipping has nothing to do with when the dealer sends it, only how fast the carrier brings it to you after the dealer sends it.

well,it has been 1 week and 1 day and still says "will ship in 1-2 weeks", no payment charged.... sooo long.
