sorry, i don't have a blk crinkle w/tan to get a pic from. check out the handle color thread that KaK started, it has a lot of handle blade combo's.

maybe somebody out there has this combo they could post?

Hello idahoskunk

Thank you for your reply. Could you please instruct me as to how I can find this thread that you mentioned which was started by KAAK?

Also, the only BUSSE I have is the European #6. From what I know this is modified INFI. How does this differ from the non-modified INFI? It appears that nobody knows that.

Furthermore, I have a few more questions:

1) Do you have the measurements of the handle thickness of the FSH with the standard canvas micarta scales and with the magnum canvas scales?
Also, what about their respective weights (i.e. FSH w/ std canvas micarta and FSH w/ magnum canvas micarta)?

2) In the description in the Company Store is stated that the HOFSH has a "full height grind"; so, what type of grind does the FSH have? In terms of performance what difference does it actually make?

3) Last but not least when I requested information about the dimensions of the Air Bleeder Leather Strop (the leather part as well as overall), KAAK said he thinks it's around 2" by 8"; however, he mentioned that it is a guess. Do you know anything more about it?

4) Yesterday MikeH brought up the issue of the FSH thickness. Earlier today randucci mentioned of a post by Jerry saying that the FSH was under size and the HOFSH was going to be oversize. What is the bottom line to all this?

I apologize for bombarding you with all these questions but with me living in Greece, I have no means to obtain this kind of information other than relying on the assistance of fellow forumites.

Thank you in advance for your assistance and your willingness to assist me.

Take care,

George :)

George... We don't mind the questions at all. In fact, it's good. These guys probably needed a brush up ;) :D

Roughly eyeballin' the standard handle, it seems to be around a 1/2" in the thinner portion and just shy of 3/4" in the thickest part.

(This is my standard handled FSH)

Hi KAAK

Thank you for the information. Is this your std handled FSH? This is really awesome! What kind of scales are those?

With regards to the above mentioned measuments, my understanding is that this includes the 0.25" of the steel so, this means that the two scales are 0.25" at their thinner portion and 0.50" at their thickest part. Is this correct or not?

I am looking forward to hearing from you.

George

Edited to add:

I just read the entire post. It appears that I am not the only one who requested information on the scales. Do they come at extra cost?

Thank you,

George

I could be wrong, but it seems that the scales are roughly an 1/8" thick at the thinnest portion and a 1/4" thick at the thickest portion (Not counting the blade, just the individual scales) As for weight, I tried to get a rough guesstamite (sp?) using cans of soup, ramen noodles, fluid, etc... lol... Don't have a scale. But far as I can tell (You don't even wanna see my scale thingie :D  ) the FSH weighs no less than 15 Ounces and no more than 19 Ounces. Hopefully another hog will have access to a scale and verify this.

My standard FSH is a full height grind. Same as a HOGFSH. As for the thickness of the two, I like the 1/4" even though I haven't handled a HOGFSH. For me, the 1/4" Standard is plenty, but I do love the occasionally fatty ;) :D

Hopefully I'm not confusing you... I had a difficult time explaining through words :o

So basically, my late night measurements are: Fattest part of handle is 1/4". So.... .25" then .25" (blade) then .25" = .75" handle thickness.

Do you think you are confusing me? I don't know about that, since I managed to understand what you have been trying to convey to me :D . BTW, did you have to pay extra for those scales? Are they canvas micarta?

It's 13:06 in Athens, Greece now. What is your local time?

Take care,

George

Those green canvas micarta were one of the basic options so it wasn't extra. Right now it's 02:50 right now. Wanted to make sure my explanations weren't making any huhs?!? lol.

2:50?! Wow, do you stay up until late or what? Nice "talking" with you though. BTW, are you in the same time zone with California? I spent some time there as a student.

Take care,

George
