Excellent Review Joe..

Andrew:

I describe how I sharpened my Axis in painful detail in: http://www.bladeforums.com/ubb/Forum3/HTML/000560.html

The short answer is, using the Spyderco Sharpmaker:

I start on the 15-degree sticks, and take the bevel to about 1/64" of the very edge itself. Then I switch to the 20-degree sticks to actually create the final edge bevel. That gives me a very short 20-degree edge, followeed by nice long and thing 15-degree bevels. Performance is awesome!

Outstanding review Joe! I've got both of these knives, and the only thing that compells me to carry the Carnivore more is the Mike Sastre-made concealex breakfront sheath I've got. It's nice under a sweater while on the job. The BM 705 Mini Axis is my absolute favorite pocket knife of all time, and the Carnivore/705 combo works well for me and unfortunately keeps the 710 in the drawer. Professor.
