Comparing the ZT 0200 and 0300...

I chose the ZT 0300 over the 0200 due to the extra strength of the frame lock. I also find tyhe flipper opening and assisted opening features to be extremely desireable especialy at work. The thumb studs also work well.

As to the damaged model mentioned above. All the owner needs to do is contact ZT and they will send replacement parts or make arrangemen ts to return it to them for repair. They are great at keeping their warranty.

I was impressed enough with the ZT 0300 that I purchased an 0301 as well.

I also own a 0300 and a 0350CB. I just sold my 0302 to a client.

All of them were some of the best Q/C folders I have ever owned, and the 0350CB polished up to be one of the sharpest.

If the SpeedSafe does break, will the 0300 still work pretty well? I mean, if it does break OR i decide to remove it, will it still close open, and lock properly? Will it have the same closing opening feeling as the 0200? or will it totally not work since the 0300 was made to have the Speedsafe assisted opening?
Basically a good combination for me is a 0300 that has the same opening as the 0200... will removing the Speedsafe on the 0300 achieve this or will it make the 0300 problematic?

It looks like the Spec Bump, but it has 154CM steel. Funny, I could have sworn it was ZT... Maybe he has 2 knives, the Spec Bump and a ZT.

And yes, flippers are cool:cool::thumbup:. I like flipping my Shallot open, but the handles are too small and slippery for any kind of use.

The original Spec Bump had 154. Your co-worker should send it in to Kershaw, or call them for a torsion bar.

The 0300 uses the torsion bar to keep the knife closed. People have modded the blade with a detent and been pretty happy.

If you really want it to be manual then you should go with the 0200, it was designed to flip open manually, and it does it exceptionally well.

You can't go wrong with either unless the size and weight are an issue (if they are you are looking at the wrong sort of knives).

It's been said many times the 0200's liner lock is beefier than many knives frame lock.

Here is a review I did Of the 0200. I think the blade on the 0200 is designed better than the 0300. The 0300 series has a extremely wide snubby blade that effects its puncturing ability. There is a abuse test of these knives on YouTube and the 0200 did better than the 0301. They cut copper pipe, steel bolts, stabbed car hoods, etc..The 154cm didn't snap or chip as easy as the s30v steel. Some real world differences is the 0200 clip can be positioned better than the 0300 and the opening speed on the 0200 is as fast or faster than the assisted 0300 series. Both blades have the super tough dlc coating.

DLC holds up unbelievably well. The coating on my 0300 is still in fantastic shape and I've used the tar out of it, a lot of it cutting wood and abrasive materials(cardboard and rope). It still shows basicaly no appreciable wear. At this point I'd have to say it is the most durable coating I have yet encountered.

Yea, DLC is the toughest I have ever used. The pics I took in my review were taken after a hard day of abuse.
