Comparison Chopping Videos

The home-made monster is half inch thick, 2 and a quarter inch wide and on a total of one inch longer than the NMFBM.
it weighs in at 1,2 kg, that's between 2 and 3 pounds. Lol....
It is full flat grind, with a small convex bevel.
Made out of a huge hunk of Uddeholm steel called Arne...
Solid as a rock and heavy as h...
Handle is made from moose antler...
I just use it for things like this, because it's way too heavy for use over time.
Your arm feels like a log after using it a while. I made this knife just to see if I could do it, aneu to see how it would feel to use such a beast...
Feels GREAT MWAHAHAHA!!!!!!!! Instant caveman, you just wanna start destroying more stuff...

Found that I can with much of the blade of this also:

But it looks like yours weighs 0.30 pounds more than mine!
That thing is truly a beast...congrats. :)

Thanks Stabman, that truely is a Nice blade too...

Thanks. :)
What took the most planning though was the handle...I've found the handle to be VERY important, and something sadly overlooked by many.

From the pictures it looks like you put a good bit of thought into your handle as well, which will make a huge difference when using it.
Your arm may feel like it will fall off, but at least your hand will still have skin on it, and you won't be removing a giant blade from your leg. :D

Handle is actually going to be changed, it`s a little to round in the back end. Tends to want to turn if the knife glances off..

Are you going to flatten up the sides then?
Or does it need all new scales?

All New scales, wider in the back and maybe a little more weighted, I made the tang thinner towards the handle end, and I think that did it, so maybe some steel-liners, and then some home-made micarta scales to finnish it up..

Sounds like a plan.
How about brass liners? Heavier than steel and looks cool too. :)
