Thanks for all that info... and for the pics!

I think I have to get one of these... any blade that gets the attention the B8 thread has gotten, deserves a shot! I don't think I'll be giving up my SARSquatches any time soon. Or would that be SARSquatchi ?? :D

A few more question, if you all don't mind...

Do the B8 LEs have a full convex blade... or full flat with a really sweet convex edge?

Are the coated blades the same as the LEs? Joules mentioned a thickness difference between the 2, anything else different?

How many different releases have there been... just the Cupidganzaaaaa?

And now for the biggie... any strippers yet?? If so... lets see'um!! :D

.

I have both and much prefer the Sarq. Except of course, for the swedge. I have three Res Bussekin, and like them except that, because of the Res design parameters, the talon hole, and choil are further forward than on non Res blades. Much prefer the choil placement on "regular" Bussekin...;-)

I know it's early, but...

There's no wrong or right time for strippers... So let's see'um!!! :D

There have been reports that the basic 8 is full flat, these are false. It is full convex done right imo with a very subtle curvature and convex edge. I would take the basic all day over the squatch, squatch has far too much mass in the handle tang which always destroys performance IMO.

Are the CGs and LEs both full convex (albeit slight... Which is better IMO)?

An a full tang would rule out the majority of Busses for you... Or is that only your preference on blades this size?

Both cg and le should have the same primary grind, the edges will be diffderent though. I tend to avoid full tangs for this reason..... light brigade, skeletonized, tapered tang or hidden tang would all be preferred at this point if possible.

I would even choose the basic 8 over the following similar sized models I have experience with....

FSH cg original
TGLB
NMSFNO
DSF
Taliwhacker LE
Banned trail point Sarsquatch
Hell Razor 14'
Choilles Tank Buster
Choilles Boss Jack
SAR 8 Custom Shop Persian Fighter
SFNO Custom Shop Trail Point
NMSFNO Custom Shop Trail Point

Wow... That's an impressive list to top! Even more reason to get one!

As far as tangs go... I do wish Jerry would hollow the tang on the fatter blades, more so on the shorter blade fatties. Me personally, I like a tapered tang on distal tapered blades. For a blade like the SARsquatch, I like the balance point at the hilt... Just where it lands on the Squatch. That's just what feels nimble to me.

All that aside... Now to find a B8!! :D
