Comparison Test - Japanese AUS8A vs American CTS XHP

Interesting comparison. Can you determine how much of the performance gain was due to the DLC coating and it's lubricity through materials? I would venture a guess that the performance difference with this coating while cutting cardboard would be even greater
 
DLC isn't on the actual apex. So while it makes the whole blade slide more easily through the material it shouldn't influence what's happening on the edge and thus shouldn't affect wear resistance.

True, it will just affect how easily it moves through the media.
