Compass attachment?

I got a new compass awhile back, Brunton Adventure compass or some such. (I forget the actual model number)

I'd like suggestions on how to mount it to my Maxpedition Fatboy Jumbo. Suggestions?
 
I have both and I put mine in the front (opposite of water bottle) pen pocket. I sometimes loop the hand strap of the compass through the shoulder strap so I don't have to worry about losing it.
 
get the maxped Barnacle pouch and two Malice clips and attach it to the PALS webbing on the strap, near the big buckle.

Hey brutha,

The Brunton compass I have is the now discountinued 8097. I just measured it and it's a little over 4 1/2" long. The Barnacle says it's 4 1/2" long. Do you that this will fit?
Do you think a M2 would be a better fit?

In my M2, I keep an old school digital camera, 4 AA batteries, lens cleaner, Sharpie, pen and I put my iPhone in the front compartment. The front compartment might just be big enough for your compass. 4.5"x2.5"x1"

aaaah i doubt it will fit....

how THICK and wide is the compass? i might have a maxped pouch for you! ;)
