I forged this from a leaf spring taken from a 47 Studebaker truck for a cutting competition. It has chopped rope, slit a plastic drinking straw, chopped 2x4s and cut most of the way through a ping pong ball without damage to the edge. However, I failed to stab a tennis ball or catch the running mouse. I have decided to quit competing (I got beat by a girl) and decided to sell this off.

Forged from a Studebaker leaf spring
Convex grind and edge
Almost mirror finish
Tapered tang
Diamond wood handle
Overall length: 14 1/2 inches
Blade:10 inches long and approximately 5/16 inches thick at the thickest point
Weight: 1 lb, 3 oz
Riveted leather scabbard without a belt loop

$250 ----SOLD----delivered to the US or Canada. My PayPal account is gldrewknives@yahoo.com I will also take a USPS money order or a check with time to clear.

mross you are the envy of the forum now! Perhaps Gerry can arrange for that girl to give you a lesson in the proper technique for using this chopper from!

I'll take it. Paypal sent. That must have been some ping pong ball!!

Thank you!
Only my very best friends give me a bad time about my short lived chopping career. And, the ping pong ball was standard issue thank you very much. :)

Gerry, hate to see you give up on your short lived cutting career. Sara just got lucky, thats all!!!

Gerry,
"from a 47 Studebaker " would a reasonable guess be 5160?
Michael

That was my guess so I heat treated it as though it were. It turned out fine; took a lot of abuse and held a great edge.

Gerry,
It arrived yesterday. All I can say is WOW, Thank-you so much, it's awesome and popped hairs on my arm! (arm is still there)
