I think that Barco and Ames are still producing some axes in the US.

You're right. The Pulaski I bought 10 years ago is not stamped but the etched markings that were visible on it new said 'Barco made in USA'.

Pretty interesting stuff. I had seen these guys for the first time about a year ago. Guys I guess with lots of time on their hands.

I haven't talked to the BMC guys for awhile, I think I fell out of favor with them for whatever reason.

This is what I do know though, they just opened another shop in Tokyo, and are traveling all over the world doing whatever they want.

Love em or hate em, I wish I was doing that, especially on rebranded goods.

I wish people would actually talk to company owners before assuming they are just re-branding a product and charging more. Some of their stuff cost less then council's... And they played a part in the design of the HB Pattern. Their fancy painted axes are for a specific group of people, if youre not in that group, dont worry about the price tag and buy the unfinished axes.

It's not really that they sell to yups. It's that they seem boast that they have a true hand in the fabrication of their collaboration products when it's really just a rebadge.
