A friend sold me his XM-18 today, for a friend's price.
This completed my Grail trio of the CR Large Sebenza, the Strider SMF (CC) and the Rick Hinderer XM-18 (gen III flipper, 3.5")

This is a milestone, for me at least. Here is some knife pr0n. Enjoy! I know I do!:D

Sweet!

Where's the umnum? :)
Hehe. Who knows, I need to handle a knife before I decide I like it. I do sometimes 'gamble' but only if I need to decide quickly, like with special editions, low volumes, etc.
So maybe at a show, or if a friend's got one and it wows me, I might well decide to get one. ;)

Very nice. I also just recently started purchasing more expensive knives and have aquired two of my grail knives. A small micarta Sebenza and a Burger EXK 2. Both of which have me happy as a fat kid with an ice cream cake!

Wich one do you like the most?
Toss-up between the SMF and the XM-18. I think the Spanto is a great concept, all the strength of a tanto with none of its drawbacks. The SMF CC is beautifully shaped and super ergonomic, and I gotta say, hardly less smooth than the Hinderer. I also love the thick blade and its strong tip.

The Sebenza has a beautiful blade but the frame is almost drab compared to the other two.

OMG ... beautiful trio of knives philwar!

I could easily consider that a grail set myself. Thanks for sharing the pics.

I love the subtle torch finish on the Seb.

Me too - very nice touch. I was thinking about this thread and I've held all but the SMF. I sold my Sebenza 21 within two weeks of delivery because the handle didn't make it through my grip and the top corner created a real hotspot in my hand. Maybe the UMNI is longer? They don't list the handle size. I like that Strider a lot.
