Can I get some pointers in making the tip end grind blend at the plunge? How do you angle the line backwards?

Do a regular hollow/flat/etc grind with a plunge at both ends... track your belt off each side and work your way back and forth until you hit your desired grind depth. Both plunges should match, pretend the tip plunge is at the ricasso. You can also lay in a grind with a straight shoulder that naturally gets thick at the tip where the edge curves upwards.

After that lay in the next tip grind and match the edge thickness, that way there will be an even edge with no transition between the grinds. The line will appear to have a "backwards" plunge from this transition.

I'll try to get pics next time I do a compound grind, it's easier to explain in photos.

Gotcha. Thank you so much for the help. Love your work.
I'm practicing with a thin piece of steel so it isn't very defined but can you tell what I'm doing wrong from the pic?
