Compression lock Suggestion

Hello all,
after playing with my CF/BG42 knife all week, I have concluded that every Liner Lock and Compression lock needs a Ball Detent. the Ball detent makes the opening so much more smoother and also keeps the knife shut very well. I am not sure why this was overlooked on the Para, but I really want on on my Para now. the Para does open smooth but I can "feel" the metal to metal contact. Does anyone feel like I do?

Far as I know, all Spyderco liner locks use a ball detent. I would guess the reason compression locks do not is that their lock bar has less mechanical advantage against the side of the blade tang than that of a liner lock. A ball detent would not hold the blade closed reliably.

They use another "keeper" system. (they machine a trench in the side of the tang) My compression lock Spyderco knives hold fine.
I have some compression type knives with ball detent keepers and they work ok as well.

I think the trench holds well, but my only complaint is the smoothness of opening.
When I oil it, it will work for a little bit, but even then it doesn't feel as amazing as opening my military. the Ball detent adds another level of refinement when you open it. To me the lack of smoothness makes the Para feel a bit "cheap" even though it is far from it. I don't think there is any other technology in Aiding the smoothness of metal to metal contact.
My friends ATR opens so smooth and I wish the Para would have the same feeling. I have had this knife for almost a year and that is the only thing I have found my self questioning about it. So all in all, I am very Pleased with this knife.
