Compressor? Good?

That seems like a great price. I havent looked around much but that sounds like a real good deal to me.

Will more than meet your needs. Nice compressor.

Is there a duty cycle rating? WOW I'm impressed by the price! Hope it works for you! Blasting may require more CFM than this can produce, so if it's small jobs then go for it.

hmmm looks like husky sells the same model at home depot for the same price... but has a lifetime warranty.... as compared to the 3 year from campbell hausfeld....

might be work going with the husky.

anyone have experience with either of these? keep em coming guys thanks in advance

Someone knowledgeable on the forums told me I needed a 5HP compressor to really do most blasting work. I can't remember who it was and since I haven't bought it yet I'm not sure what the outcome would be, but there has been a discussion or two about this in the past so you might also search the forum threads.

3 HP is okay so so. You have to figure that your generic craftsman 33 gallon tank is 2 HP running. You can bead blast/sand blast sure with a 3 HP. It is better to use a 5HP and up. You want high CFM to run the gun. a bead/sandblaster takes CFM like madness! if you can swing it, $$ wise, i'd suggest you save the money and get something 15 CFM and up.

The above link are compressors used to run guns all the time.

As you use the gun, the hole will get bigger and bigger. needing more and more air to run the gun.

A good compressor that doesn't need to fill up every 20-30 seconds in gonna cost probably $800.00 or more.

If this is something you plan on doing A LOT, i'd suggest you save up for something with more HP and CFM. If you're gonna do it once in a blue moon, the 3HP will work too.

basically going to be running some tools off of it and doing some sand blasting now and then..... not batches of knives or anything maybe one or two at a time. i have a buddy who used a 30 gallon sears for doing a ton of knives for years... and he hated the thing. only worked for the first blade then it played cath up the rest of the time. now its finally dead. :thumbdn:
we'll see. i'm sure you'll be right and i'll just end up buying something bigger in a few years.

but i'm very impulsive. :D can't wait to get this thing running... well i can't wait to pick it up tonight actually

I'm sure for what your purpose is, it will work just fine! =)

Just don't try running any LARGE nozzles on the gun.

yeah i'm just looking for a small benchtop blast cabinet. i have never had an air comrpessor i can't wait. going to be so great to have something so versatile.

thanks again guys
