Well, it's a gadget, so I thought I'd try here first.

Kind of a minor problem, but I can't fix it.
I lost Solitaire on Windows 98. There are some freeware versions, but I like the stock program.

I could still open the game, but no cards. I was wondering if Spybot took one of the files I need. No quarantined files looked like I needed them.

Next I used Add/Remove to uninstall 'games'. I re-installed the same way and had to load off the CD. Now when I open Solitaire I get the 'illegal operation' message, and it shuts down.

Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks.
Alex

Have you tried searching for it on the CD and then installing it manually to an alternate location??

Another Idea is to go into the registry and delete any stuff there for it. Be very careful though as once zapped its gone. The illegal opperation stuff sounds like typical 98 though, it may just be a fart. I would remove once again from Add/remove. Shutdown the PC (Cold boot not reboot/restart) and actually pull out the plug for 30 or so seconds to kill any residual charge then re start and install games again. Then reboot. Its hould be fine and dandy.
