Concealed Carry Choice

I carry a CZ 83 chambered in .380 Auto in a UBC Regulator OWB holster on a UBC gun belt. The gun's capacity is 13+1, and I carry a spare 13-round mag in a UBC mag pouch. I always conceal with no problem, even in the summer with only an untucked T-shirt. The belt is stout enough that the load is carried easily, so much so that it's easy to forget I'm toting it. While I've never been made as armed, we in WA have constitutional open carry, so printing is not much of a concern.

My concern about a revolver is lack of fire power. Law enforcement abandoned revolvers in droves in the '80s, in large part because they were being outgunned by the bad guys. The military has known for a long time that fire power is a key to winning infantry engagements, and most shots (~80%) fired by law enforcement miss their target. Finally, bad guys seem to be operating in packs more often, and while cops often patrol in pairs and have very good communications to call in backup, the armed civilian is more likely to be operating alone. However, a revolver is better than nothing -- it allows one to be prepared for an average deadly force encounter; but, one does not succeed in the long run by preparing for average adversities.
