Anyone have any experience with one of these or the Condor brand in general?

looks like a shiny billhook (see wikipedia page here :http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billhook)

i have seen lots of variations on the design including just a plain hook blade and one with a flat on the back (presumably for trimming against a block etc) like that one you posted.

if you google billhook you will find tons of examples.

as to that particular product, i have haven't seen a condor in person, but alot of people on these boards seem to like them.

That thing is ugly!
Try the woodsmans pal, I heard lots of good reviews on it.
Also ugly, but in a rugged way.

I really like them. They are kinda the Mora of big choppers. They are still thin enough to slice well. The Aztec hatchet will chop down a tree then chop up a salad. I have a couple with more to come. The Mountain Knife and the Aztec Cleaver. Very nice leather sheaths as well.

What steel are they? I think it was mentioned in the aztec thread but I can't remember.

I have had the chance to use one the work pretty well they are simply a modern version of a fascine knife colonial armies use to use it to build their entrenchments and wood stucktures called Fascines which were simply bundles of sticks. The solidier most likely to do this work were called Pioneers(IIRC) they were the grunt force usually a lower rank they were also equiped with saws for construction and destruction.
