Condor Knife Village Parang

Yup! Watched that already. :D Doesn't answer my question about what's apparently so negatively different about the sheath for the VP compared to other Condor sheaths though

If it's the same as the others it will be thick and rugged. My only gripe is the belt loop swivel which I will likely change on all my Condors. Last time I'll bitch about that.;)

LOL I guess I you feel the need to change it you could get some chicago screws and use those instead of rivets. Might be more robust that way.

Going along that line, yes. Just pop 2-3 rivets across a loop if black nylon strap or some such. Still get the movement freedom.

Hmmmm. This thread got my choppin juices flowing. Have to dig the Barong or Parang out for some play.

Fulfilling present market demand for OLD production items whilst at the same time making a crapload of new models. They're working as fast as they can, I assure you. But with Condor it's a "we'll get there when we get there" thing. :o

All I know is that there have also been some changes in some of their old offerings. I got in a Nessmuk Knife yesterday that has a true scandi grind on it rather than a convex and the tip is nice and pointy! Unfortunately it's a "Grade B" due to a small handle gap, but it's otherwise the finest example I've yet seen. The Kukri Machete (NOT the HD Kukri! I mean the old one!) now has a redesigned cho that's much more attractive and stress riser-free and the blade seems to be of stock that is thicker than prior and has a medium distal taper. The overall effect is spectacular!

Which reminds me--I gotta' get those up on the site. :p

I've got 4x of both the Village Parang and the Pack Golok on the way. Should be here at the end of the week--I'll be sure to post up impressions when they land.

Awesome I'd be interested to hear your thoughts and how much they really weigh, as modern interpretation of trad blades.
I just managed to pick up some parangs / duku chandongs from Malaysia so will post up some reviews and pics once I get a chance to do some chopping!
