Condor Rodan

Smoky Mountain Knife Works. They seem to be one of the few places that keeps them consistently in stock. :)

Got one last week from SMKW. It is hefty to say the least. I think it is a very well constucted knife. It was not as sharp as other recent purchases in the same price range but that is the only complaint I have. The sheath is sturdy and holds the knife quite well.

Haven't tried it out yet and not sure exactly what I will do with it but I wanted one and am satisfied that it is a good knife for the price.

You just wait until you get an edge on it! It may need a little work out of the box but the thing is a scalpel when you're done giving it a little elbow grease. They do wonders with 1075.

So it comes with a sheath form knifecenter?

Yup. Doesn't matter who you get it from--it ALWAYS comes with a nice leather sheath. :)

Hey guys, just got back from camping and giving the condors a workout! I got a note about htis thread, and wanted to post this picture real quick.

Like a lot of other people, I wish the grind went a little further back. But as for the tang that some people were questioning, that's enough tang for anyone: that baby's not going to break.

The Rodan closely resembles my BK-10 in size, though the Rodan is much lighter in weight. The Rodan is made of very durable materials and a solid, robust design.

What I didn't like about the Rodan was its flimsy, poor-fitting sheath (at least the one I have). But, for under $25.00, I didn't expect anything either. I made a heavy-duty 12 oz. sheath for mine and it seems like a very indestructible package fit for any adventure now. :)
