Confession: Buck 112 does more.

Does more than what?

The 112 is a neat knife. I used to own an older no-nick 112 and I quite liked it.

Not an EDC guy because you carry a gun? What, do you shoot your sandwiches in half and your packages open?

*bang,bang* Who wants half? Ok, well..it's over there...and there..and..

:)

112 is a great knife. First "real" knife I owned. Classic work workhorse, still very relevant

This just in; 112 goes all the way!

:D
Reminds me of the Simpson segment, where Homer buys a gun.

On a more serious note, Ive been tempted to get a 112 but a Spyderco has pretty much replaced any other folder.
Were I to get a Buck, Id most likely go with a slim 110 in any event.

I’m not an EDC guy. (I carry a gun). This knife, however, cuts really nice

Buck has the perfect grind for blades of the width and thickness they use.

I'm not sure what your gun has to do with edc'ing a knife, but any American made Buck knife is a perfectly adequate choice for a cutting tool if you are going to have one one you like you should

IMG_0270.JPG I like my 112 Pro Slim, good size and light weight. Pocket clip came off after being loose, standard Allen wrenches did not work to tighten, gave me the excuse to try the 110 Pro Slim, which is cool, but still prefer the 112 size.

Got an older 112 with no nail nick from a friend at church, sturdy knife.

Please dont get offended by what Im about to say. What does carrying a knife everyday have to do with carrying a gun? Two tool that do two completely different things. You joined a knife community here. We take our tools very seriously.
I think he is just stating that he carrys a gun more than a knife EDC, so while they are complementary, he may not be used to carrying the knife with it. New ways to carry, etc. it took me awhile to get use to carrying a small fixed blade in a KSF leather pocket sheath in my front left pocket.

So many distractions.

OP, the 112 is a surprisingly capable knife. Nowadays you can get it in modern supersteels. Great choice.

OP appears to believe carrying a knife everyday means it must be for self-defense purposes.

I too carry a shooty bang bang for self-defense, but for cutting things I have still always found it handy to have a knifey slice slice instead. The two are pretty much unrelated beyond that my wife thinks I don't need any more of them.

To be fair to the OP, the vast majority of the human population would see most of the knives we discuss as primarily weapons. Although one doesn’t typically use “EDC” in reference to carrying knives as the sole means for self defense, I can kinda see how one might make that association.

More on-topic, I have 0 experience with the 112, but I was gifted a 110... which immediately made me appreciate the advantages of modern knives. Yeesh. So heavy, with inconvenient lock placement, pinned together so it can’t be taken apart easily, no pocket clip... Sure, it’ll cut things, but classic design doesn’t make a tool better than modern counterparts.

Yea i feel the same way every time i pick up a frame/liner lock

Hahaha

I'm more tolerant of the older styles. I feel much more like a hipster with a 110 in my hands than a sebenza
