Confession: "I have never owned a Delica"

I carried a fully serrated warncliffe Delica for close to a year when they first came out with the variant. It just wouldn't leave my pocket. Even bought one for a spare, thinking they'd discontinue it. So many worlds collide with that model. Size, weight, ease of sharpening, drop opening, one-hand closing, splinter picker exrordinare. If I was to recommend any variant of the Delica, it would be the serrated Warnie. Carried, of course, tip down.

It took me a long time to finally own a Delica. I had sharpened/repaired at least a few, if not several for friends and co-workers over the years, and the knife never did anything for me. The broken tips were obviously user error, but the main issue was it was just too small and not comfortable to hold and use.

That changed with the Delica 4. The handles are just a smidgen longer and shaped slightly better, and that's all it needed. Big enough to fit me perfectly, small and light enough to be unnoticeable in my pocket until it's needed.
