Confessions of a former serration hater.

My CS Vaquero Grande is the only knife I own that just has to be serrated.
I bought the few other (semi-)serrated knives I own used at such a low price that the edge configuration was not that important.

I carry both serrated and plain depending on where I'm going that day. I change EDC's regularly. I also test protos in daily use.

If I out on the boat, or out in the bush, I like teeth. Daily mail etc, plain.

If I'm testing a steel or new heat treat on a steel, I prefer plain, it's easier to test the attributes of the steel. serrations take such a long time to dull that tests take longer.

Thanks for answering, Mr. Glesser.

Another question, if you don't mind...
In the Spyderco website, the Edge-U-Cation page tells "with proper cutting technique, the SpyderEdge can function equally well for fine-skilled tasks".

Is there something mysterious about that technique, or is simply cut carefully?

(Hey everybody! Sal Glesser talked to me :D )
