Hello,
Im making up some slipjoints in D2 and am having trouble finding charts on spring tempering D2. I'll be hardening from about 1825 and tempering at either 475 or around 950-900 for the blade, but I cannot seem to find a chart on achieving spring temper for the backspring.

Am i looking right at charts thinking that 1150-1200 will yield a spring temper on D2?

Heres the chart Im looking at thats gauged mainly at RA but has D2 hardness as a function of temp.

That gives me tempering temp for blades, but I need to know tempering for spring hardness to make the backspring on a slipjoint. Blade hardness will snap. I know its out there but its hard searcing for "D2" on any forums because its only 2 letters long, haha

Nevermind...just found it up top of that link...duh!

Look at the chart mid way down the page it gives spring tempering for most blade steels

You posted faster than I could type lol
