Hi,
I have the titanium Strider msc SMF w black blade. Am I correct in saying that it only has a edge on one side of the blade? The black coatinng covers the entire blade except on the lock barside, it has a distinguished edge that is shiny. On the other side I can't see the edge. Is that how it is supposed to be?
In every picture online that's exactly what it looks like.
Any input would be greatly appreciated as I need to sharpen it.
Thanks

Thanks. So if I am sharpening using say 20 strokes on my sharpener for the edge side, how many strokes on the sharpener for the men edge side.

This is commonly called a chisel edge. you only sharpen the bevelled side. Just sharpen the bevelled side, then a few strokes on cardboard, a strop, or a very fine stone to knock the burr off of the non bevelled side.

The trick is to make sure you have the correct angle when sharpening the bevelled side. When taking the burr of of the non bevelled side, keep the blade as flat as possible to the sharpening medium.

Sorry to sidetrack the thread for a moment, but was wondering if you could answer a question about your knife?

When it is clipped in your pocket, does the lockbar relief grab the stitched seam of the pocket when you try to draw the knife out?
I can picture the thicker seam on denim settling down into that groove quite comfortably and not wanting to let go.

Thanks, and back to regular programming.

If it is going to be a user I would say wait until it gets dull then put on a v edge. If it is a collection piece and up for possible future resale, I would try to leave it mint, as some collectors dont like anything done by previous owners. Best of luck.

Not that I have noticed, I pretty much carry and use everyday, the pocket clip is nice and snug.
Thanks for help
