Confused over-priveleged guy Spyderco question

New Native5 with 3" blade, if this too big than Leafstorm with 2.5" Both knives are great, but Native5 would be my first choice.

I'd like to second the Native 5 suggestion. I carry it or my green Delica when I want a knife that isn't likely to draw negative attention (or break a 3 inch law).

Any of the Sage series or Chapparel should be GREAT for what you want. If you want something a little outside of that box, the Zulu or Jason Breeden Rescue would also be excellent choices for mid sized, non-aggressive looking Spyderco. All of the above are really high quality knives as well.

My EDC is a Sage 2 + Alox Cadet SAK, covers just about everything I need to do.

Slow down! The OP said he can't carry the PM2 - maybe because it's due to knife laws in his area? If that's the case and he's VERY impressed with Spyderco products, he should check out their Slipit line - non-locking knives similar in form to locking Spydercos with a mechanism that's similar to a slipjoint. For some higher-end offerings, check out the Spyderco Terzuola Slipit, UK Penknife in carbon fiber or the Kiwi.

Gayle Bradley or Sage 2. Both are top notch build and more people friendly. John

I will look into everything suggested and get back to you guys. It will be fun just checking out all the suggestions. Yeeha!

Also regarding my local LAWS, I do not think there is an issue in Ca with a PM2... but I'm in the suburbs/city, like I said, and around lots of families with kids, etc. It's just a discretion thing...

Cold Steel Espada XL...

... haha just kidding. That thing is quite the opposite of what you're looking for.

I would also recommend a Leafstorm, Chaparral, or even a Cricket.

Maybe get it rescaled in a different color? I'm thinking about doing that eventually. Or maybe pick up a sprint even though I really just want a different color scale.

Also, look at the color delica 4s.

I carry the military alot, not a problem with where I'm at or who I'm around. That being said, if I am going to be in an environment that requires a bit more subtle cutlery choice, I usually carry the Caly 3 ZPD189. However, I recently picked up a Caly 3.5 super blue from one of our members on the sale forum and it is quite the knife and will more than likely be going in the pocket in those situations.

Im sorry if this has been mentioned by someone else. But I have to ask. The PM2 over the Sebenza or Strider? Really? Is it just a cosmetic thing, or performance based? I own all of these knives. The PM2 is still in the box as I was very unimpressed. It had none of the heft or umph of the original Military. My Sage 2 in Ti was leaps and bounds better in finish and performance, but it pales compared to the Sebenza or Stider in performance. This isnt a jab. Im just generally curious what the great attraction is for you. And for the record I own more Spydercos (at least 25 that I can remember) than CRK's (5) or Striders (4).

I've had 4 Striders, 3 CRK's and prefer the pm2 over them. I know you weren't talking to me but it's not unreasonable. I would pick CRK hand's down if they made an umnumzaan with a grippy g10/cf scale and better steel. The pm2 doesn't bite into my pinky like an smf, sng, sebenza, or zaan when I'm cutting hard material like oak limbs.
