on January 5th I made pattyb009 an offer on a knife he listed and he accepted. in the listing he said he would only accept Zelle or Venmo, I checked his feedback and it was very good so I didn't have a problem sending the money. he told me he would ship the knife on Monday and gave me a ups tracking number. so far all I can determine is that a label has been created but nothing more. I reached out to the seller last Wednesday to find out what was going on with the package and he said that there was a problem with the label but it was all fixed. I contacted the seller again on Friday because there was no movement shown. he said that had dropped the package off again at the pick up box and I would get the knife and not to worry. well there is still no progress when I check the tracking, any suggestions???

Tracking can be spotty. I’ve had more than one package show no movement, then be out for delivery. Today is a federal holiday, so I wouldn’t expect anything until tomorrow. Hopefully it works out for you.

This happens occasionally with USPS tracking. I've had that happen several times, both ways.

This is 100% true. I’ve had the tracking service show no label created and then out for delivery all of a sudden. Still made me nervous though seeing “no label” for several days.

UPS or USPS ?

I put it in bold for you.

Thanks. Reason I asked again, just to make sure, is that USPS has missed tracking (not scanned on pickup) for me, and I have lost a couple of packages even (stolen?).

Never with UPS.

Seller should refund you IMO, if it doesn’t show up after 2 weeks. That’s what I have done.

That is confusing, given the lack of specificity. What was the problem with the label? Why was the first drop-off attempt unsuccessful? When did he successfully drop off the package?
Given the seller’s positive feedback, there’s no reason not to trust him at this point—but the vagueness in communication leaves you sort of in the dark, which is anxiety-provoking. It would be helpful if he would clarify the details.

Hello, all. I'm the seller. I printed off a label that was a little lighter than normal (like Grayscale instead of black). I didn't think itd be a problem but apparently there was some scanner difficulty. I have reprinted and dropped it off again Friday. My town is very, very small. Our ups drop point is literally in a computer store run by two guys. It's not a UPS Store location. Sometimes the old guys don't empty out their little annex every single day to give to the ups guy when he comes around. Just to be sure, I will be going there tomorrow to double check its going/gone out given the holiday today. I've never had a buyer not get a package/their money back if not refunded. If it helps, I accepted a price way lower than listing for this. So I'm not scamming anyone. It will get there; I'll ensure it.

Just 30 minutes ago I finally received a package shipped on the 6th that showed no movement after initial scanning. UPS has been doing that fairly regularly. The first package was shipped 12/20, it never made it, said the scan code was unreadable so my kids got a refund and ordered another one. It seems like the pandemic made a mess of all business and a lot still aren’t back to normal.
I hope your knife gets there soon !

Sounds like boyh parties are decent people.

Last year I had a knife take over a month to get here. Sometimes tracking is worse as it can lead to anxiety! As long as I know something is in the mail I just try not to think about it until it turns up!

Ah, UPS.

UPS unilaterally established a five-hour delivery window tomorrow during which I must be present to receive my package. But I must be absent the second half of that period. Gloom!

But wait, UPS says I can "change delivery," specifying delivery the next day. FALSE.'

UPS automated systems:

1) will not recognize my 100% correct log-in data (I write it down, not relying on memory.);

2) will not allow me to select new log-in data because I already have an "account"; and

3) will not allow me to change the delivery time by the telephone number provided because the UPS incompetent Automated Voice Response System hears or reads "1ZZ" as beginning the Tracking Number no matter how many times I say or key-in "1Z," thus cutting off the last character of the Tracking Number: "Sorry, I do not recognize that Tracking Number."

Based on my last four UPS non-deliveries, whether I am here or not, the UPS driver will leave a notice that I was not present and must pick up my undelivered package from the drugstore in the next small city south of here, from out of the mound of undelivered parcel stacked chest high to the north of the CVS checkout counter. The cleks tell me that UPS rputinely drops off dozens of parcel seach day. I do have a long driveway.

.

Not ups here, but if there's a chance I'm gonna get stuck on your un/poorly-plowed secluded country driveway, I'm not risking it. That will eat up a day waiting for someone to come extricate me meanwhile all the other packages on my truck end up late.
