(Yes, I know it's c-o-n-g-r-a-"t"-ulations. Got your attention though

).

Man, talk about being busy and things change. For those of you who've never heard of me, I have been here since this forum's inception and would like to say "hi".
Dexter Ewing, (hi Dex), and myself are the original "Military Men". Dex would probably argue that he came up with that phrase but I swear, I did. Dexter though DID talk me into purchasing my original Military and together we persuaded a whole tassle of forumites into becoming "Military Men, (and women)". In fact the Spyderco Forum now proudly pictures a Military as it's logo. The two of us put the Military on the map, (in these forums), and proudly it is now one of Spyderco's best selling knives and deservedly so. Sal's wonderful company and quality conscienceness has made Spyderco THE top company in quality and value today.
Sorry for straying off track. This post is to congratulate my old friend, "The Baldest One", in his new capacity as this forum's co-moderator. Bob is one of the most insightful and knowledgeable knife people you could ever hope for. He knows of what he speaks and you really couldn't ask for a better person to "co-handle" this job. Good choice Mike T. and congrats again Bob.

Long time no see, Gene! Welcome back into the "fold", and try not to be such a stranger, ok?

Gene,

You old ________ ! Whoops! Forgot we're the same age
smile.gif
! Great to see you having a bit of free time from your latest challenge at work. I totally agree with Spark... wish you'd pop in a bit more often. We miss ya guy!!!

And thanks for the vote of confidence. This forum is hard to keep up with with its huge volume. The biggest challenge is to help some of the folks by moving their posts to areas where they'll garner more results. That and trying to point them to like threads that require a bit of persistance to find using the search function. James is the lead with his refined diplomatic skills in pouring some oil on rough water when needed. Thankfully this site, unlike so many others regardless of theme, has some of the best behaved, polite, and knowledgeable folks to be found in cyberspace. What was it you used to post? Wasn't it "I love this place
smile.gif
!!!" ? It still holds true!!!

Now Gene, male pattern baldness is a common ailment among older men, so don't go making our dear moderator feel bad

I need a bigger bucket.

Hey, thanks Spark and Bob. I really do have to get back in the swing of things. I still do "love this place". It is the best forum anywhere and has the best people period! I've supported it from the beginning and hope EVERYONE supports it by buying something from the BF Store at least every couple of months. Kevin and Mike work damn hard and we need to show our appreciation with our wallets every once in awhile.
Bob: You are right. James' diplomacy and spirit are just right for this forum and so are yours.
Stompy: You are right also but I can get away with it because like Bob said, I'm an "old f**t" too. Besides, what Bob lacks in hair, he makes up with beard and good looks.
