Congratulations to Bill Burke and his full page coverage in Knives Illustrated April edition showing his 5 Master smith knives. Wow, and I got to hold each one.:thumbup:

Hey Bill that's GREAT! About time you got some main stream press coverage!

Now all I gotta do is wait until June for that issue to show up on my newstand!

Who the hell is Bill Burke?!?!

:p

I just got my copy in the mail and was proud to see that pic of Bill's 5! His dagger is a real stunner!

It was also nice to see our very own J. Neilson, Russ Andrews, and my friend Henry Torres in that article... all about our newly crowned Mastersmiths!!!

Congrats Bill!!!  :D

that was a nice article. congrats Bill. J. Neilson also got some ink in that one. J. stops by here now and then.

I had the privilege of judging those knives and giving the thumbs up to a well deserved stamp. Bill, I didn’t get the opportunity to tell you then but what impressed me about your work is how you brought many different styles and methods together into one knife to make very unique and well executed pieces. They caught ones attention and held it even after you had put them down from experiencing their good feel as well.

Hey Nick you know I'm the guy that makes "the best damn bill burke you can get".:)

Thanks again to all you guys.

Kevin, That is one of the nicest things that I have heard anyone say about my work, Thank you.

Just to clarify for those of you that don't know me, Bill is a friend that I met because of knifemaking over ten years ago. He was one of the first custom makers I really got to talk to at the OKCA (Eugene, OR) show when I was about 19!!!

I've watched as he grew somewhat under a big name maker's shadow, and then fought to build and grow with HIS VERY OWN style, and ultimately develop so much of his own style that he had a very Japanese influenced piece in his 5 Mastersmith test knives.

Look at his fighters that include a habaki...unique and VERY cool.

Bill has grown to be a maker with a very broad range ... and one thing that has NOT changed, is the warm smile and welcome he offers to anyone that approaches his tables at shows.

I'm proud to call him a friend... and that's why I always rib him. ;) :D

Nick I see that you are still worried about the ahole attention grabbing thing that you posted about a little while ago. Knock it off please.

I remember you coming to my table that day. It has been an honor to see you grow from an uncertain skinny young man into a confident, shop pixie magnet that makes a mean knife.

I return the honor of calling you friend.

Thank you Steven,Scott and Bruce for the congrats and also your friendships.
