Congratulations Dan Koster!

What's it say?

sheez.

Blade magazine quote;
"Daniel Koster is becoming known for his Tusk model and the Wilderness Survival Knife, and working in 0-1 tool and 1095 and 5160 carbon steels, and a lot of G-10 and Micarta(trademark) for handles." end quote.

Congrats Dan!!!!  :D

Kis my friend it wasn't labeled and I'm not up on all of Dan's designs.:( It was one of his smaller ones.;)

Congratulations Dan!

Hopefully one day we will see Dan in his own Discovery Channel series: “American Knife”.

For those who havn't seen the magazine, here is the picture. It was in the article titled Up and Coming Tactical Makers to Watch

Thanks for posting the pic!

Still haven't seen the actual issue....:(

Here's a funny:

The text mentions G-10 and Micarta. The pic is Bubinga - stabilized wood. :D
I've only made a couple knives using micarta...a few dozen with G-10...and hundreds with stabilized woods. :foot:

But hey....publicity is publicity, right?
Worked for Paris Hilton.......wait....she's in jail.

Thanks to everyone who posted...thank you for your kind words and thoughts.

It's been an interesting journey...with some unexpected twists and boosts. Hopefully my "prime" is still yet to come.

The Blade Show will be a lot of fun...and should add some more notoriety.

And, um....something else that will happen after Blade.
(no bean spilling yet...but I promise to make a stink about it later)

I've really enjoyed being a part of the Cantina...I still feel like "one of the guys" and would gladly "hang" with anybody here. There are many who are much more knowledgeable than I, more experienced, have more wisdom, and more talent. I don't have any delusions of grandeur...just happy to be doing something I truly enjoy. I do still like architecture...and am much better at it, than at making knives...:foot:....same with teaching. But the satisfaction meter is off the chart when I'm in the shop. No comparison.

I've been by the local bookstore several times already....still had the June issue.

Went by today....Ta-Da!

July has arrived.

...went ahead and picked up a few *extra* copies...:D :o
