Congratulations Salem!

Good job buddy! When I saw that cable I told Lisa you'd be ok. I knew you had done a bunch of cable from the old days. Good job man

saw the cable and went oo they got this im a stock removal guy and know how to do it (made one about 10 years ago ) congrats on the win

So now I know the ending before I watch it, maybe I should watch it in reverse

Congratulations Salem! You absolutely DESTROYED it. Both pieces were gorgeous, and stood out significantly from the competition, IMO.

Now what new tool do you have your eye on with all that prize money? :D

Congrats Salem! I was pulling for you to win from the onset.

In the first round, you turned in one of the best looking and most nicely ground and finished 'rough' blades in the the whole series.....any episode. I told my wife that you had great forging and grinding skills and had a good shot at winning. Also knew that if you got back to your home forge, you'd make something special.

You said that the kopesh was out of your comfort zone or experience level (paraphrasing, you mentioned something similar) but from knowing you and your work, and the pieces you've put out in the past, I thought it was right in your wheelhouse and it looked like it in the finished product. Really impressive and I'm happy for you.

Congrats on your win!

Your an artist, pleased that you presented that in what you made instead of going the easy route with the main focus being strength. As shown, its possible to have both in one blade.

Fred

Nailed It Salem!!!

Chris Marks had a good chance of goin far, but he has spent the last couple decades making damascus and bout forgot how to make a knife. Lol. He's a good friend and one of the best at pattern welded steel, but like he said, he's an "ancient Master Smith not a current one". Ha Ha :)

Congrats even if I didn't get to watch. I'm a cable cutter from two years ago and absolutely love it TILL TIMES LIKE THIS there's actually something on TV I want to watch! Sounds like a great show and would have loved to watch you win! Congrats!

Congratulations buddy, I knew you could do it. I think the extra time you spent mulling over the design was well spent and the longer handle was the right decision. Oh, BTW, I need to borrow some $$$ :D
