Congratulations to team CPK. Unprecedented win.

Congrats CPK Team.

It would be quite nice to have alternative steel options for smaller knives such as 4V, CruWear and MagnaCut. I know CruWear and MagnaCut might need some work but I believe 4V HT is optimised. So why not offer some of the knives in 4V? I favor edge stability over corrosion resistance and since CPK is performance driven company, offering 4V options every once in a while would be a good practice. Of course 4V versions would need to be thinner and harder and not to be covered by hard use warranty.

Honest question: is the edge stability of Delta 3V not sufficient for your needs?

There was a new cut on the course which was a drinking straw hung on a piece of string setting on a steel washer. The cut was to cut through the straw. Doesn't sound that difficult. Just a hanging straw on a string. Only three people got through that cut. Nobody else got through it. Just the three. The three that I sharpened. Exact same kit that I use to sharpen our knives in production here. Literally the exact same process.

I have been wishing that The Ocho was real ever since Dodgeball came out (almost 20 years ago!).
I miss ABC's Wide World of Sports. "The thrill of victory, and the agony of defeat..." That poor skier. What a way to be immortalized. 😂

They used to show all sorts of odd competitions. Pretty sure that was where I first found out about the World's Strongest Man competitions back in the 70s (when the powerlifters and wrestlers competed in their onesies 🤣).

I bet they'd have aired the Bladesports competitions.

I didn't mind the onesies, we called them singlets. They did have that 50s wrestling vibe, which was kind of funny. Nobody wore them except when they were required in competition. They were manly damnit!

Probably it is. I am a delicate knife user so I rarely damage the edges of my knives. Even if I do, I am good at sharpening. So really, I can survive with almost any steel, any half decent steel would be sufficient for my use. That being said, this is not about one steel being sufficient or not. I have knives in many different steels and I am quite OK with most of them including SK75 and 1095. But the point is, CPK is a cutting performance driven company with side benefits of good fit and finish. So this being the case, it would only be logical to offer 4V as an option. I (we?) are being knife nuts, I (we?) have long past the point of something being sufficient. If I would settle for a sufficient I would only have one fixed blade and one folding knife. But since this is not the case for many of us in this form, it is only natural to pursue the highest possible performance for intending purpose. Similarly, I would suggest CPK to consider CPM 1V for larger choppers as I suggest 4V for smaller knives.

I have used it on smaller knives and even a light chopper. It didn't sell well.
